Our own art camp

I have this dream of one day going to an art/crafts camp on the likes of Squam and the Makerie. While that dream doesn’t materialise in its exact (dreamed)  form, I thoroughly enjoyed the one life manifested for me! Our holiday at the cottage was just that. An art camp! We didn’t set off with that intention, but as the days passed they were more and more filled with art and creativity. We enjoyed the outdoors, cooked good food and made art. Lots of it. We spent 10 days in a beautiful location and surrounded by friends who promptly joined in in all the creative endeavours. Warren and Tim worked on a collaborative sculpture in which all of us had a chance to do some wood carving. Even the children. A few other sculpture projects came about too. I took my  watercolours and made an observational painting every day. At night we all did some oil painting, exploring colours with a technique in which you spread oil paint diluted in  linseed oil with kitchen paper. I even managed to throw in some crochet and kintting to the mix. I was so inspired and reinvigorated from our holiday that I want to carry on with the watercolours in my everyday routine. I just love watercolour journals and hope I can make it part of my life.
