Saying good bye to the Summer
It’s in the air. Mornings and evenings are considerably cooler now. The comforters have come out of storage for a cozy night of sleep. There are leaves on the ground and pumpkins are showing up everywhere. And by the end of this week the Summer will be officially gone. We did wonderful things like the trip to Philly, the Summer Festival of Arts and Education, Lili’s birthday and our impromptu Arts Camp but we spent most days at home doing simple things.
We had a face paint craze going on.
Marta and Liliana practically lived outdoors. Mud play happened every day and took many forms.
Lots of creative output. One day I come outside to find a lot of the day lilies were missing only to find them in a beautiful arrangement produced by Marta. I was upset about the flowers but couldn’t help admiring her creation.
We painted quite a lot this summer too.
We tended to our garden and harvested delicious things.
Our next door neighbour has a swimming pool which we were able to use almost on a daily basis. Thanks to that, Marta has now learned how to swim!
We had quite a few pizza parties in our backyard.
And Warren and I celebrated our 6th anniversary ♥!
The Summer has been great. It’s hard to say good bye.
===================*********====================
Está no ar. As manhãs e noites estão bem mais frescas. Os cobertores saÃram do armário para nos esquentar na cama. Já tem folhas no chão e abóboras estão em tudo quanto é lugar. No final dessa semana é o fim oficial do verão. Marta aprendeu a nadar e nós fizemos algumas festas no nosso jardim. Esse verão foi incrÃvel. DifÃcil de dizer adeus!
