Reviews for Dragon Baked Bread
Thank you so much for the gift of your book. It gave me one of the nicest
experiences I’ve ever enjoyed. Today, I had the priviledge of reading your
book to Matthew’s 1st grade class. They LOVED hearing it almost as much as
I LOVED reading it. Matthew even read the king’s part. Most of the
children sat in a semicircle on the floor around the “reader’s rocking
chair”. You should have seen how big their eyes were. They were completely
in thrall.
Afterwards, Matthew and I shared the “dragon baked bread” that we made last
weekend for this purpose. We all had a ball, and the teacher was THRILLED.

Your beautiful book has arrived! I’m so happy to have it! What a delightful story – a wonderful contribution – I’ve been wanting to write to you & tell you how it felt to read it – specially I noticed the comfort of the rhyme, the massage it gives the ears … just as the rhythm is setting a steady groove, there is that abbreviation or elongation and the ahhhh there in the inner hearing, the throat actually seems to feel it as well, lots of different places actually —  where do we most feel the rhythm of sounded words? the counting - the feet? the fingers? all of it… the walking and skipping and the cartwheel here or there or the stopping all together, the space where there is nothing, that silence – yes? that pause – those amazing “spices” in a line of prose – those subtle pinches of this or that –
