Fire and Bread, Art of Bread
Hi Warren,
I had the pleasure of meeting you and your family at the RSI this summer. From the evening session in which you showed how to bake bread, the guidance of your book and the great bread starter that you gave me, I am baking very nutritious breads for my family (at least once a week): corn bread, plain bread, apple bread, scones and even pizza. I have not bought bread since I started baking! Every time I make bread I feel I ma meditating. It is a wonderful experience that I have never had while cooking. I dare to say that it feels like a spiritual practice. My children also help and I am trying to help them deepen their relationship with what they eat.Â
Thank you for all your work and for inspiring others.Â
Best wishes,Â
Alejandra

Dear Warren, I’ve done it! Two perfect loaves were ready at teatime – crusty on the outside and textured inside. My daughter could hardly believe that such good bread began from that little dry ball of starter. I’m much encouraged to continue the process weekly. Thank you for your inspiring teaching; the weekend was fantastic and I’m sure I’ll be back…
Dear Warren, Thankyou so much for such a wonderful day. I am enthused inspired and so happy to feel empowered to make delicious digestible bread. It’s fantastic. I am looking forward to baking lots of bread and bringing joy into other peoples lives too. I loved the reverence you brought to the day and feel very blessed indeed to have been part of such a nourishing day. I am now going to attempt to attach photos. Do hope it works! Thanks again, and also for the story book, which is a a lovely story and i look forward to reading it with my neices.
Hello Warren, Just wanted to send you a quick message to thank you for a wonderful day yesterday.
It was just so inspiring and fulfilling to make the time to engage so fully in such a nourishing and delicious activity with you and the others. We  look forward to other opportunities to work with you in the realm of baking bread together.
Dear Warren – I just want to let you know that I am still baking bread with the starter you gave me in October. Meanwhile my partner is involved again in the baking too and our joint efforts start to bear fruit: the starter I brought is more lively than the one he used before and with his kneading the bread gets a really lovely texture. I also made some very succesful sourdough ‘Oliebollen’ ( It is a traditional Dutch New Year’s Eve recipe) for the first time of my life! I didn’t know that it is possible to make those without yeast, but you don’t know until you try..

“Thank you again for your easy going and practical approach to making bread that encouraged me to dive in the adventure too.”

Dear Warren, Just wanted to thank you for a great day – learned a lot – especially how accomodating and flexible starters can be. Am going to intoduce mine to all sorts of new flours and textures and wil introduce yours to a new waterborn life. Oh, and the rye was delicious for breakfast.
Â
Dear Warren, Thanks very much for a fun day! I learnt a lot about bread and cooking with an earth oven which I look forward to implementing in the woodland. The bread culture will be shared!
Â
Dear Warren, Thank you for all the energy you put into our bread making course last Saturday. You asked what we learned; … as well as information, I have such a feeling of calm wellbeing, achievement and enthusiasm. It was a wonderful day…
